No review because I am not going to see the movie. Well, not in the theater. Maybe on DVD. Later. Some time. As a staff reporter and editor at Seybold Publications, I got to hear more than a few of Jobs' presentations at Seybold Seminar events. I have seen plenty of videos where he spoke--about the first Mac, at Stanford in 2005. And, I have watched the previews of the Jobs movie. I knew I had seen enough of that movie in the previews. No way was the movie going to match the reality.
Whatever is lacking in Jobs, the movie, is not Ashton Kutcher's fault, I am sure. AK and I have the same birthday (not birth year, but birthday), so far be in from me to diss a fellow Aquarian. It would have been almost impossible to channel Steve Jobs into a movie. That is a task akin to putting lightning in a bottle.
I can, though, recommend without reservation, watching Charlie Rose's recent interview (air date August 14, 2013) with Larry Ellison, co-founder and CEO of Oracle and a friend of Steve Jobs' for decades. Ellison, you can tell, clearly misses his friend. I admit to shedding a few tears when I heard him describe his last few walks with SJ.
